Caity Gyorgy, pronounced "George", is a jazz vocalist, composer, arranger, and bandleader based in Toronto and Montreal. She is known for her modern arrangements of jazz standards as well as original compositions inspired by jazz composers of the 1950s and 1960s. Gyorgy performs regularly in clubs and jazz festivals across Canada and has worked with artists such as Jocelyn Gould, Pat Collins, and Allison Au in addition to leading the Caity Gyorgy Quartet.
Caity Gyorgy runs a popular Instagram account titled "@Liftaday" where she transcribes instrumental jazz solos. Her debut album, "No Bounds" was released in 2021. Caity Gyorgy was included in JazzFM91’s list of "Eight Canadian Women in Jazz You Need to Know."
Caity Gyorgy grew up in Calgary, Canada. She loved music growing up and sang in school choirs but did not consider music as a career until 11th grade when she had her first paid gig. Gyorgy graduated from the music program at Humber College in Toronto and went on to McGill University in Montreal for a Masters of Jazz Performance.
