Early Life

Adam Levy, born in 1966, grew up in the Los Angeles area. While his parents dabbled in music, his greatest influence was his grandfather, George Wyle, a composer and arranger for television. As a child, Levy often accompanied his grandfather to the studio, where he met many prominent musicians. Levy began playing guitar around the age of 10, and by 20, he landed his first gig as a session musician. He studied at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles before relocating to San Francisco in 1991, where he immersed himself in the jazz scene while frequently traveling back to LA for studio work.
