Piano
Scott Arcangel is a pianist, composer, arranger and educator. Shortly after completing a Jazz Studies degree, he joined the US Army's West Point Jazz Knights. In his 15 years with the group, Aracangel took on many roles, including pianist, arranger, and musical director. He composes and arranges for both small and large groups, and his music has been performed by high school and collegiate bands as well as professional artists such as Stefon Harris, Claudio Roditi, and the Boston Pops. Most recently Aracangel has taken on the role of Music Director for The Music Boutique, a company that coordinates live music events in New York and throughout the Northeast.
Scott Arcangel is a frequent presenter and performer at the Jazz Education Network's annual conferences. Scott Arcangel is a fan of the football team the Buffalo Bills. Scott Arcangel's son, Jonathan Arcangel, is also a jazz musician and plays the saxophone.
Scott Arcangel began playing the piano in elementary school, quickly demonstrating a natural talent for picking out tunes. Encouraged by his mother, he pursued his passion and majored in Music Education at SUNY Potsdam, graduating in 1998. He then headed to the University of North Texas where he studied Jazz.He then headed to his studies in Jazz at the University of North Texas.
