John Castleman is a trumpeter and music educator. He started his career as part of the Future Corp band at Walt Disney World. He went on to perform with the Bach Festival Orchestra, Clarence Clemmons, Ken Peplowski, and was a member of Sam River's Grammy-nominated Rivbea Orchestra. In 2007, he joined West Point's Jazz Knights as lead trumpet, and performed all over the world. He currently serves as the Director of Education and Outreach at the Venice Symphony in Venice, Florida.

John Castleman was a Sergeant 1st Class in the US Army and went through basic training. John Castleman served in US Air Force “Heritage of America” band.

Early Life

John Castleman was born in Washington state in the late 1960s. Growing up his father ran a musical instrument repair shop. Castleman earned a Bachelor of Music in wind performance from Central Washington University and later Master of Music in theory and composition from Norfolk State University.
