Kevin McClellan, a skilled bassist and sideman, is presently rooted in Nashville, Tennessee. He works in a variety of genres, including jazz, country rock, and world music. McClellan has shared his talents in both recordings and live performances, collaborating with a wide range of musicians such as Steve Wilson, Bob Shepherd, Joe LaBarbera, Vardan Ovsepian, Miroslav Tadic, Larry Koonse, Blackberry Smoke, ATMA, and Elizabeth Cook.
While studying in Brazil, Kevin McClellan played regularly with a samba jazz trio. Kevin McClellan enjoys rock climbing.
Kevin McClellan was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He studied music at the College Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati receiving his Bachelor’s in Jazz Studies in 2016. McClellan spent a semester studying a Unicamp in Brazil and later spent 2 years in Los Angeles where he earned a Master's degree from California Institute of the Arts. While at CalArts he studied both bass and traditional Indian music.
