Josh Mellicker is a jazz guitarist based in Los Angeles. He began his career in Portland, Oregon, but put his musical aspirations on hold to become a tech entrepreneur. He founded multiple companies and was a pioneer in the digital video industry. He has since returned to music, performing with prominent jazz artists such as Katisse Buckingham, Steve Hass, Abe Lagrimas Jr., Dan Schnelle, Bob Sheppard, and Danny Janklow. Mellicker also leads a group called "LA Jazz Connection" and regularly performs at Strada in Downtown LA. Josh occasionally appears under the name Josh Jacob.
Josh Mellicker founded a tribal rock fusion band and released one album in 1987. Josh Mellicker was one of the co-founders of DVcreators.net, one the world's best and best-known resources for digital video creators. Josh Mellicker studied Physics at the University of Missouri Kansas City.
Josh Mellicker grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. He began playing the guitar at age of 5 and developed a passion for jazz music as a teenager. At 15, he left home and eventually landed in Portland, Oregon, where he had the opportunity to perform with renowned jazz musicians such as Mel Brown, Paul Wertico, Ben Wolfe, and Phil Baker. He also played and arranged for the Mt. Hood College “A” Lab Band while he was in Portland.
